What are you drinking today in the world of whiskies?
I'll be having some Johnny Walker Black Label, ice, and a splash of club soda.
Think I'm going Bookers tonight
Probably pair some Sinners with a Pliny and a Tat of some sort.
Johny Walker Red Label tonight.
Cedar Ridge is distilled near Cedar Valley IA. It's a relatively bourbon - 2 yrs. 80 proof, from what I've read 75% corn! the rest barley & rye. Caramel sweet, not overly complex but smooth and pleasant. $35. They also sell a rum aged in their bourbon barrels... It's amazing.
Good old Buffalo Trace for me tonight.
Dr. Pepper for me tonight...I'm working...
I had this the other night and I liked it so I bought some for a second try.
Ever since receiving a couple bottles of scotch as gifts, I've been finding that I like it even more than I remembered. Tonight, I'm having some Laphroaig Quarter Cask.
What a different taste Laphroaig has! Definitely unique.
Agreed! It feels like biting into a ripe orange. A cool rush of juice with just a hint of citrus sweet which transforms into a warm clean smoke. I'm following the suggestion on the bottle and opening it up with a splash of water. I plan to try it neat also.
It's not even 100 proof and they want you to give it a splash of water?!
Probably Jura Turas-Mara... Still on the road, but it's calling to me. We did a tasting the other night with a variety of Whiskeys from Scotland, Ireland, the US, Japan and one from Wales, and the Jura came out on top for most of us.
Yeah, it changes the aroma of the Laphroaig.
Just grabbed this Glenmorangie 18 year, never had it but a buddy said it was good and the gift set looks cool. I'm a sucker!
Try the Nectar D'or from Glenmorangie. It's fantastic. Their best IMO.
keeping it local tonight.
Today will be a Grants Scotch kind of day.
Last night I started with a double Laphroaig with an ice cube, then Johnny Walker Red & club soda at a friend's house.
